Starting Over

I've got some good news and bad news, mostly bad. I was able to get Daz Studio 3 running again. Unfortunately none of my scene files will load properly. All my custom character poses and lighting presets are gone! Right now I'm just trying to salvage the character models. So far I've got Kimberly and Claire to load in Daz4 mostly intact. Lisa's hair is giving me problems. I think I can save most of the characters, but some changes will need to be made. Daz3 may not be useable anymore, which is damn shame, an excellent piece of software when it worked properly. Daz4 while more advanced, is SO bloated and user unfriendly it takes three times longer to build a scene, my content is scattered all over the place, and half the time won't load. Loading Lisa's hair causes Daz4 to crash.

Basically everything I've built has been wiped out, and I'm having to start over again. For those of you awaiting the next chapter of the comic, I apologize but any future updates are canceled as of this moment. I will probably publish the half-complete chapter 6 at some point.
So what was the good news? - The good news is I'm not quitting 3D. And I'm taking this opportunity to go back to square one and start something entirely new. Whatever this new thing is, I'll be sure to bring the old characters along, I'm too attached to let them go. That pretty much sums up the situation. Thank You everybody whose followed the blog all this time, you've been very supportive. I'll try to post regular updates.

MAJOR UPDATE! - Tech Failure, Progress Halted, It's Time For A Talk

Okay, about a month ago we had an ice storm here in the States. Electricity was interrupted where I live and thanks to a faulty surge protector, my desktop was killed. It's taken a while but I finally got my data recovered, including all the renders used for the comic. That's where I'm at right now and I'm working on recovering my software setup. This is where the situation might be pretty bad.. I've been using an unsupported version of Daz Studio 3 that I've been customizing since 2012, built up over time like a house of cards.
So far I've been able to load some scene files in Daz4, some work, most will have to be rebuilt. IF I can get Daz3 working again, this situation will be a LOT better. But as of right now it's unclear if I can finish the next chapter.
Okay, what about the comic? - Chapter 6, was only half complete, and none of those are sex scenes. Before the mishap, I was struggling to write for this chapter, but did have a rough idea for the story, which brings up the other longstanding issue. I'm really struggling with the writing! The way things are going in the story, feels like it's building toward some sort of grand finale. The problem is I simply don't have an ending for this story! I never really planned for it that way. Lately the comic feels like it's in limbo, I've been really anxious about producing the same type of content for so long, without much improvement. I've been thinking a long time about moving onto new things, like animation or interactive novels.
Deus Ex Machina - Confession time, I was planning on wrapping up the series over the next 2-3 chapters which were going to be titled St.Irene: Addendum. I think it's been a long time coming. I don't expect it was an ending that would've pleased anybody, storywise. I had plans for a big scene with the original 6 characters: Kimberly, Miaka, Lisa, Claire, Denise, and Angela. After that, I wanted to spin-off the series and try some new form of media. That was the plan, before the incident. Anyway, that sums up the situation. There's a lot more to be said, but I'll leave it there, and will update within the next 5 days.
